• Oh Cambodialand

  So, for those of you who don't know, I'm not coming back to the states this semester. I'm taking a semester off and helping my mom with some stuff and also working since I can't afford to pay for school. My dad is going to pay me enough to pay for one semester of school and then after that he'll hopefully be able to pay for it, provided my family is on the same continent (come on government, you can do it! Put a little power to it!), and I hol down a job and a 3.25 GPA.

  That aside, Cambodia has been pretty fun so far. My mom and I are butting heads, but then we have been for the past 20 or so years. We had a big party for Christmas with another American family here, and another one for New Years.

  Currently, I'm babysitting while my parents are out with some friends. My dad leaves tomorrow. I let Bong Pol have the TV tonight while I'm on the computer and she's watching Khmer music videos, which ususally consist of a group of women and men who are in very fancy clothes in the middle of a field for some reason, swaying back and forth and moving their hands. It's enthralling. My Khmer is horrible, but I'm getting better and remembering things, altho not as much as I'd hoped. Danged French strikes again. Anyway, I'm bored here, so I'll probably start posting on xanga a lot more often (sad how that works), but for now, I'm off to finish a book, check on some still-not-yet-sleeping children, and get eaten alive by mosquitoes.
